This guide shows you how you can find money keywords for your website.
But before we begin let’s cover the basics just in case you aren’t familiar with keywords already.
What is a keyword ? Keyword Research Process
A keyword is what people enter into search engines. It can be a single keyword – for example dentist or ladies fashion. But it can also be a search phrase consisting of several terms – for example dentist in london.
How to find a good keyword in 4 Steps
1. Put yourself in the head of your customers!
Suppose you own a travel company and offer bus tours to Eastern Europe: Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Your bus fleet consists of Neoplan Jetliner, Scania OmniExpress and Setra Comfort Class buses. What is the better keyword: bus trip Neoplan Jetliner or bus trip Czech Republic? Put yourself in the minds of your customers: What is important to them when they want to travel – the destination or the coach model?
That’s trivial, don’t you think? Then we come to example 2:
Your name is “Jason Wilder” and you are a dentist in San Francisco.
A useful keyword for your homepage: Dentist San Francisco.
You might ask yourself why Dentist San Francisco and not Jason Wilder dentist ?
Because more people are looking for Dentist San Francisco than Jason Wilder Dentist ! (unless you have your own television show and are so prominent that your fans google you all the time … but we leave this special case out of the question).
To know that, you don’t need any tools, you just need your common sense.
2. Check the search volume of your keyword idea!
If you want to know more, you can check the search volume of a keyword with the Google Keyword Planner. It indicates how many people google for a specific term or search phrase per month. The tool is actually used to find suitable keywords for search engine ads. But it can also be used for SEO keyword research.
Unfortunately, Google has limited free access to its keyword planner in August 2016: Instead of precise values, the monthly search queries only show a range, for example “100 to 1000”. According to Google, this restriction affects “advertisers with lower monthly spending”. Google has been silent about how much money you have to spend on search engine ads to get full access.
Nevertheless, the Keyword Planner is still useful to at least get an overview and compare keywords with similar meanings.

3. Check the competitors for the keyword!
Pages that are listed at the top of search results for your keyword provide exactly what people are looking for when they google the keyword.
Why can you assume this?
Because Google is constantly working to deliver optimal search results to users – not for philanthropic reasons, but for tough business reasons: Only if the search engine delivers useful results will it continue to be used.
If you have thought about a keyword, you should google it first and take a close look at the search results: Do you fit in? And: Do you have a chance against these competitors? Do you have better content to offer than the pages that appear at the top of search results?

Your keywords should have several criteria:
Transaction keywords with high conversion rate
High search volume
Depending on the industry, individual keywords are more or less competitive. Especially at the beginning it is very important that you choose your keywords carefully.
